Joel Anderson - Drums & Percussion
 |
Joel was part of the Edmonton band NEOa4
from 1982-1989. They developed a strong reputation as live performers and
cracked the college radio market with their independent releases What's Up
(1984) and The Warmer Side Of You (1985) while opening concerts for such
acts as The Thompson Twins, Thomas Dolby and The Cure.
The band was contacted by record label Duke Street before starting to record
demo songs for Warmer Side, but the label dragged its feet so the band
released it on their own. After winning several awards, Duke Street finally
signed the band in 1987, and the label released a 5 song EP of remixed versions
of previously released material and had great sales results.
The band went on to release two more albums, the self-titled debut album
NEOa4 (1988) and The Hard Way (1989).
He joined the band Go Four 3
in 1989, six years after the band was started. Shortly after, the band changed
it's name to Thrill Squad and released it's final album It's Party
Time (1989).
Joel went on to join the Skydiggers in 1993 to
play on their album Just Over This Mountain. In 1996 he joined the
band as a full member. He plays with the Jim Cuddy Band, and has recorded
and toured with Oh Susannah.
