Kathleen Edwards: Back To Me solid follow-up to great debut it's easy to argument that white t-shirts are uncool, boring og unimaginative. it's also easy to say that kathleen edwards doesn't bring anything new or spectacular to the "alternative" countryrockplaza where neil young ans lucinda williams have had their statues build. but in the same way that a white, logofree t-shirt in the power of it's simplicity, fit for use and potential great fit can end up as one of your favorite garments, some months of "back to me" can quickly make it one of this year's most loved records. the canadian 26-year-old debuted with great success with "failer" in 2003, and follows up with a special effects-free record where the many famous tricks of the roots book is mixed with naturalness and handicraft excellence. the road is not far to great classic rock of the sheryl crow type used to do eight-nine years ago. the most simple is often what's best. grade: 5 (out of 6) sven ove bakke dagbladet.no translated by suzanna |
