2008/06/12  Hultsfred Festival; Hultsfred, SE Kathleen has a vicious rain as support act and perhaps the most ungrateful task at the festival - to start it off in the early afternoon. Furthermore she plays fairly unglamorous North American countryrock in the spirit of Lucinda Williams, without the same sharpness. But Edwards manages to turn the disadvantages to advantages. Not so much through the music, it trots along fairly slow with a few sharp guitar duels as an exception. But rather through quick, funny banter and an admirable ability to create an intimate atmosphere in an environment that really isn't inviting.
